La Jolla Sea Caves Kayak Tour (Single Kayak)

Excellent tour! Alex and Luke were fabulous … very knowledgeable and also helpful in keeping us safe! We loved all of their local insight and commentary! We have only kayaked on Midwest lakes and it is obvious kayaking on the ocean would be a new experience! The waves were what we considered high and intense, despite locals saying that it was just a “bit” high. However, with the guides help and instructions we did not tip out over! My tips : 1) use the lockers for valuables, the cubbies for your basics. Best to wear a swim suit. You will get wet. I appreciated having cheap sunglasses on as it helped keep the saltwater spray out of my eyes. 2) I went barefoot from the starting point to the beach area. I wish I had worn my cheap flip flops. There was a “shoe space” on the beach where everyone just left shoes, trusting they would be there to find later. The walk on the street and sidewalk was hot on my feet! 3) we loved that we had walked the very short Coast Walk Trail earlier in the day. Our kayaking took us basically along the same trail but from water perspective! Very cool! The trail starts near the Cave Store in LaJolla. 4) great experience! One of our group members did experience some seasickness feelings from the waves. She does this with boats and some car rides on twisty roads so we should have remembered to use Dramamine for her first! But she made it okay ! 5) LaJolla was a fantastic place to spend the day and kayaking made the experience complete! Thanks
