During a short two day trip we were finally able to have our glass blowing experience at the Melting Point. What an amazing experience! Jordan was our guide/instructor and was amazing. My wife and I arrived early and he explained the entire process to us and guided us on the different projects we could choose to make. Once the other parties arrived we went back to the “shop” to make our creations. Jordan was so patient and guided each person through making their own project. I was initially nervous about dealing with extreme heat and molten glass but Jordan made it safe for everyone. After making our projects we had to wait 24 hours until we could take our projects home (part of the slow cooling process so the glass didn’t shatter). We weren’t disappointed with the results. Such an amazing experience that I would totally do again!! Thanks you Jordan for the amazing experience and we will definitely be visiting the shop again!!!
The Melting Point is a new, state-of-the-art facility featuring a fine art gallery, a lamp working studio and fully equipped hotshop. We eat, sleep, and breath glass, and it's our delight to share this passion with the community. Our staff is as diverse as the beautiful Sedona desert landscape. Coming from a broad range of educational backgrounds, our glassblowers can tell you everything you would ever want to know about the science and art of glass.
