Amazing teacher and lovely environment :)

Certified instructor teaches new & experienced belly dancers in one-hour classes that focus on supportive, low-impact exercises

With its sensuous twists and undulating curves, belly dancing can express a wide variety of emotions, from "Look at my belly!" to "See what I just did with my belly?" Learn to shimmy what you're thinking with today's Groupon: for $40, you get three months of belly-dancing classes at Wild Sky Studio in Arlington (a $120 value). Classes are held at The Massage Therapy Wellness Center.

Wild Sky Studio's certified instructor leads enthusiastic movers and shakers in the art of American tribal-style belly dance. Each Sunday, one-hour classes entreat students of all levels to begin anew or further their experiences in belly dancing, celebrating feminine movements with low-impact and weight-bearing exercises developed from the observation of schools of bellybuttons. Intro classes impart the fundamentals of belly dance in a four-week cycle that emphasizes fun and camaraderie, and the follow-up eight-week beginners class helps to refine movements and introduces the basics of zilling, the use of small finger cymbals. The Crones class offers dancing instruction for those age 45 and older and openly welcomes new dancers and reverse-aging dance prodigies into the studio.

About Wild Sky Studio

Certified Tribal Belly Dance teacher Heidi Wunder embraces every creative aspect of her art, from its empowering twirls to the traditional hip scarves that she crochets herself. She welcomes women of all ages during her classes, where she tutors tummies on the low-impact, largely improvised dance style. The form's various cues allow participants to step in unison without planned choreography or flowcharts taped to their foreheads. Because of the dance's social element, Heidi views her 2,000-square-foot space as a venue for guests to make lasting bonds while they discover their potential for strength and grace.

Heidi also handmakes many ornamentations to complement her students' routines. Custom-sewn clothing and spiraling henna patterns comprise striking tribal ensembles.
