To get immersed in Himalayan culture, you don't necessarily have to take a trek through the mountains. Yak & Yeti Bistro serves modern Himalayan-inflected Tibetan and Nepalese cuisine at an elevation that's—thankfully—just above sea level, in a laid-back atmosphere. With more than a decade of experience, Chef Shiva Marahatta modernizes Himalayan delicacies while keeping with tradition by carefully incorporating quinoa, grilled veggies, and brown rice into unique and traditional comfort food recipes. Any lengthy travels are left to the spices: they're imported from abroad, and tossed with fresh veggies to make such favorite dishes as hearty jackfruit curry or spicy papaya salad. Meat-based options, meanwhile, range from traditional yak momos and goat stew to fried duck with ginger, while dessert includes poached pears with spices.
