The nap is an elusive prey, always slipping through our weary fingers. Relax and recharge with today's Groupon: for $46, you get a one-hour nap and massage combo at YeloSpa near Columbus Circle. Yelo has proprietary nap technology designed to pack your nap with refreshment. Upon entering the peaceful hub of serenity, you'll be whisked to a private nap portal, complete with zero gravity–simulating Yelo Chairs, a soothing massage, and customized scents, sound, and sights.
Created by Nicolas Ronco, the spa was created with the belief that, like iPods and vampires, people too need to take time out to recharge. All treatments take place in private, cocoon-like cabins called YeloCabs. Select your settings (music, color, air, massage table, or YeloChair), and stretch out for maximum relaxation. All of Yelo's therapists are New York–licensed and undergo advanced training in the Ingham Method of reflexology. You'll enjoy a 30-minute YeloNap ($22 value), plus a 30-minute massage of your choice (foot, hand, and ear reflexology, $80 value; or shoulder, neck, and head massage, $90 value). Instead of wasting time at work discreetly Googling chronic fatigue symptoms, relax in a soothing cocoon of rest.
Millions of people skimp on sleep every night, and at least 40 million Americans suffer from pillowtime disorders. Carving time for shuteye and relaxation will help you become more productive and responsible, according to studies. Call ahead to book your session.
Reviews
Time Out New York, CNNmoney.com, Today.com, GreatReporter.com, and FindPeaceandQuiet.com have all featured YeloSpa:
- …one of Yelo’s greatest selling points is its reflexology treatments. Using the Ingham style, which charts all the parts of your body through pressure points on your feet, ears or hands, massage therapists can help to relieve specific tension or pain. And if you have neither of those problems, that’s fine too—it will still feel great. – Alex Schechter, Time Out New York
Yelping Yelpers give YeloSpa four stars. Citysearchers give it a perfect five:
- …the staff including the owner are down to earth, kind hearted people, and very accomodating [sic]. – CosmicC, Citysearch
- This is the perfect thing to perk you up in the middle of a long work week, or motivate you for a long night of Friday night partying. – jacque_burke, Citysearch

About Yelo
"Even the City that Never Sleeps needs a nap," jokes Nicolas Ronco, the owner and CEO of YeloSpa, which serves as an urban oasis for New York's overworked and overtired masses.
YeloSpa welcomes guests into a boldly colored cocoon of maroon and yellow—colors chosen by Ronco based on Tibetan monks' robes and sashes.
Clients gain total control over the atmosphere. They can tailor the color of the lighting, the soundtrack, and even the aroma to their personal preferences. "You can be in the jungle or you can be in a coffee shop in Vienna," Ronco says. The adjustable beds recline back so far that clients' legs are elevated over their heart, which creates a mild sense of weightlessness, gently slows heart rates, and helps guests sink into a deep state of relaxation. With these conditions, falling asleep is effortless.
The spa’s more traditional services are completely customized to each individual based on an initial consultation. Massage therapists can incorporate everything from relaxing Swedish strokes and deep-tissue pressure to more focused reflexology techniques, depending on the client's needs. Estheticians use custom treatment for your specific skincare needs using Arcona, BDR, and Environ lines of skincare products. Their facials can even include microcurrent treatments, LED therapy, or microneedling, if necessary."
