What You'll Get
If children cooked every meal, lunch would be hot dogs and dinner would be Lego helmets. Today's Groupon teaches culinary skills to youngsters at Young Chefs Academy in Forest Hills. Choose between two options:
- For $25, chefs ages 7 and up get one two-hour cupcake workshop (a $50 value).
- For $19, kids ages 4–18 get one 90-minute cooking class (a $45 value).
Young Chefs Academy provides a fun, safe, and motivating environment for kids and adults to become acquainted with the art of food and food presentation. In the weekly 90-minute cooking classes, engaging chef instructors instill lessons of kitchen etiquette and safety in youngsters. In addition to providing basic cooking and baking instruction, this hands-on class includes the preparation of two to three kid-friendly recipes. Alternatively, during the two-hour cupcake workshop, hands craft two distinct cupcake varieties, crowning each miniature morsel with hand-crafted, seasonal chocolate adornments.
A small amount of culinary education goes a long way toward improving a child's grasp of recipes, techniques, and the land of make-believe baking, which is why imaginations are free to stretch during all Young Chefs Academy classes. Postclass, creative culinary artists depart with a newfound sense of empowerment and a familiar gob of frosting coddled inside their fists.

About Young Chefs Academy
The recipe for a successful cooking class requires the right mix of teacher, chef, and nutritionist—a balance that each instructor strikes at Young Chef Academy. They host students aged 4–18 in weekly cooking classes which regularly change recipes while sticking to the monthly theme. They cater to individual children, school field trips, and even scout troops. They even teach kids how to make their own treats during birthday parties, such as birthday cakes that come out of the oven already on fire and ready to be blown out.
