About Zumba Get Fit
Annette Kokkola-McLean discovered Zumba’s energetic dance workout in 2008, and she recalls feeling right at home thanks to her background in Latin dance. Before long, she had become a licensed Zumba instructor and started leading classes wherever she could—at local gyms, ballrooms, basketball courts, and crowded train stations.
While a stereo fills the spacious room with international dance tunes, Annette guides students of all ages and fitness levels through basic, yet challenging steps inspired by Latin and popular dance styles. Her classes blend aerobic, strength, and interval training to burn calories and increase flexibility.
