Groupon Announces LivingSocial Acquisition

Great news! As we publicly announced in our Q3 earnings report last week, Groupon and LivingSocial are combining forces. This means that you’ll have even more ways to promote your business and connect with new customers in your local community.

If you already have a deal live with LivingSocial, nothing changes with your current promotion. If you’re currently running on both Groupon and LivingSocial, everything also stays the same. We’ll be coordinating our merchandising efforts across both platforms to help you maximize the right exposure for your business.

We’re very excited to welcome the LivingSocial team, customers, and merchants to the Groupon family. Stay tuned for more details from us on how you’ll be able to feature your business on both platforms in the coming months.

  1. I have an existing campaign with Groupon, will it be visible on Living Social or would I need to set it up? When is the merger effective?

    • LivingSocial is officially part of the Groupon family, but your existing campaign will not be exposed on LivingSocial automatically. We’re currently working out how we can better serve merchants on each platform. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
