Groupon and ICNC Partner on “Make City” Small Business Pitch Event
In support of this partnership’s commitment to the development of small businesses, Groupon and ICNC are delighted to announce the launch of the Make City Small Business Pitch event. The contest is designed to help budding small businesses expand capacity and operations and is open to any and all Chicagoland start-ups seeking to take their business to the next level. While the final pitch event takes place in October, businesses must submit an application now through the end of June.
Five finalists will be chosen to present their pitch ideas to a group of judges on Thursday, October 5. Each of the five (5) finalists will receive a pro-bono package that includes business risk and compliance analysis, custom business apparel, marketing services, and a Groupon branding services package. In addition to this, the top three (3) winners will receive cash prizes of $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000 with the grand prize winner also walking away with $2,500 in UPS shipping credits.
Groupon’s mission is to be the daily habit in local commerce while ICNC supports the growth of small businesses and job creation through incubation, workforce development and business advising. ICNC’s entrepreneurial community consists of growth-stage manufacturers that operate their businesses within the ICNC incubator, small-to-medium sized businesses that operate within the Kinzie Industrial Corridor and a growing number of food and beverage entrepreneurs.
