Wear Sangria on Your Face. Sort Of.
Not to burst your summertime bubble, but did you know there are only 20 Fridays until Christmas? I discovered this unnerving tidbit on a recent night at Chicago's Balena (1633 N. Halsted St.) while sipping a Strawberry #1 cocktail. The drink’s bright pink mix of St-Germain, vodka, prosecco, and wild strawberry made me think. Summer cocktails have such beautiful colors—why not let them inspire my end-of-season makeup routine?
Good idea, me! Below are five of my favorite summery libations (with recipes for each, of course) and their matching makeup.
wet n wild Mega Shield Lip Color in A Currant Affair ($2.29 at Walgreens); NARS cream blush in Montenegro ($30); OPI nail color in Lost on Lombard ($9.50 at Ulta); Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara in Burgundy ($12)
Make Up For Ever matte eye shadows in Crimson and Sunflower ($21 each at Sephora); China Glaze nail lacquer in Electrify ($7.50 at Ulta); Sephora Collection glitter eyeliner and mascara in Sunset Copper ($14)
Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic glide-on eye shadow in Lime Green ($21 at Sephora); Marc Jacobs Enamored nail glaze in Lux Yellow ($18); bareMinerals eye color in Oasis ($14); NYX Macaron Lippie in Key Lime ($6)
