These glassblowing lessons are designed to welcome people of all ages and skill levels to the art of working with glass. My goal is for each participant to leave not only with a unique piece they've crafted in the flame, but also with a sense of accomplishment and new skills in this fascinating art form. Throughout the experience, you'll learn essential techniques in a safe, supportive environment, where every step is demonstrated and supervised to ensure you’re comfortable and confident as you work. Safety is our top priority, and I’ll guide you through proper handling of tools, equipment, and materials to keep the experience both safe and enjoyable. Whether you’re trying glassblowing for the first time or looking to expand your skills, these lessons are designed to be educational, inspiring, and—above all—fun! Like many people, I had a fascination with glass from a young age. From collecting marbles to playing with fire, I set my path in motion decades ago. In 2015, I discovered my passion for glassblowing at Square One Glass Studio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Those initial lessons ignited my enthusiasm, leading me to seek opportunities to learn more. I taught at Classy Glass and Madison Glass Academy for three and a half years, along with teaching assistant experience and mentorship at UW-Madison, honing my skills in pipemaking at InI Glass Studios. After earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Art from UW-Madison, I founded my own glass art business. Since graduating in 2019 I’ve focused on production borosilicate glass for the growing global pipe industry. Practicing the more advanced fundamentals that come with water-pipe development and fabrication has allowed me to expand my artistic practice to new areas that include kiln working, coldworking, larger lathe-made glass pieces, and advanced shaping techniques. Scientific glassblowing has always been intertwined with my work and assembly process, the techniques I’ve learned from traditionally taught scientific glassblowers have been invaluable to my professional and artistic work. Sharing knowledge is a growing concept in the glass community and I try my hardest to share it with the world through teaching glassblowing lessons or doing public glassblowing demonstrations.
