What You'll Get
Whitewater rafting followed by wine is enjoyable, unlike more common scenarios such as wine followed by talking to a former fling. Explore an interesting pairing with this Groupon.
Choose From Three Options
- $79 for a one-day rafting trip and lunch for one (up to $160.92 value), ages 7 and up
- $185 for a two-day rafting trip and wine tasting (up to a $376.92 value)
- $349 for a two-day rafting trip and wine tasting for two (up to a $753.84 value)<p>
The two-day excursion begins with a detailed orientation and safety talk on the shores of the river. Groups then disembark after a hearty breakfast made by the guides and are chauffeured to up to five of the award-winning wineries in the El Dorado region. Sommeliers grant sips of red wine and samples, and the guides sometimes stop at Gold Hill Olive Oil Company’s tasting room for a change of pace.
The next morning after breakfast, rafters tackle class III intermediate rapids. After completing the rafting trip, groups return to camp for a deli-style lunch on the banks.
One-day trips travel along the south fork of the American River, and include lunch.
Tour-goers should meet at 6500 Highway 49 in Lotus at 8 a.m. on the morning of their trip. Wine tastings can occur on day one or two depending on the weather.

About Adventure Connection
The founders of Adventure Connection believe in magic. Not the trickery of the stage or spells cast by mysterious neighbors, but of the spiritual, environmental, and economic boons of the rivers they have spent their lives traversing. More than 25 years ago, a group of believers came together to share their love and passion for the rivers of California, building a company that combines whitewater rafting, wine tasting, and camping along the waterways they love.
Over the course of the last two decades, the staff has guided boats through the rapids of the American, Kaweah, and Tuolumne Rivers, coasting through mild ripples or white-knuckling class V rapids. Groups often leave the rafts behind to explore the scenic countryside and renowned wineries of the surrounding El Dorado region or to pitch tents and sleep under the stars.
