The Issue: Lack of Access to Breast-Cancer Screenings
More than half of the American Breast Cancer Foundation’s callers already show symptoms of the disease. Many of these people haven’t been able to seek out the necessary treatments, however, due to a lack of funds or insufficient insurance. Yet, getting diagnoses and treatments at an early stage ensures the best chance of surviving.
The Campaign: Providing Diagnostic Services for Underinsured People
All donations to this Grassroots campaign will be used by American Breast Cancer Foundation to make lifesaving tests available for individuals who have no other means of access. For every $10 raised, the organization can contribute to its Breast Cancer Assistance Program, which provides grants for breast cancer screenings to uninsured and underserved clients. The program has distributed more than 47,000 grants for screenings, diagnosing, and treatment of breast cancer to over 25,000 recipients, making it possible for individuals to take their next steps toward better health.

About American Breast Cancer Foundation
American Breast Cancer Foundation's (ABCF) central focus is to raise awareness for breast cancer and provide screenings for uninsured and underserved women and men across the country, maintaining a call center that also distributes life-saving resources and providing health education through its online presence and community events. Whether the organization helps a 20-year-old woman with screening or middle aged symptomatic man in need of diagnostic testing, ABCF works to ensure that everyone understands the importance of early detection.
To support this goal, ABCF runs regular fundraising events including its annual fashion show fundraiser, which invites local celebrities, professional models, and breast cancer survivors to walk the runway in the latest fall and winter fashions. Community members can also host ABCF-sponsored events including casual work days and Paint It Pink! challenges.
