Artportunity Knocks promotes artistic expression and self-confidence with its Hip-Hop Extreme camp, a one-week intensive that drives home the constructive aspects of hip-hop to prepare fledgling rhymesmiths for a spot-lit future. Hip-hop hopefuls age 7–17 transform aspiration into ability with hands-on training and feedback, helping them craft battle-worthy dance moves, industry savvy, and rhymes slicker than lard-slathered slip 'n' slides. Campers select two majors, such as hip-hop dance, rap, vocal songwriting, hip-hop production, or the music business, to focus on during the session. Guest artists pop in for daily clinics and live performances, and students receive demo CDs of their work to send to record labels or consume to increase their rapping power.
Groupon customers can register for an additional session of camp taking place the week of June 27–July 1 at a 25% discount. This final session includes a live talent showcase attended by industry professionals, casting agents, and entertainment managers, offering hip-hop aspirants the opportunity to promote their potential and hype their hype-man skills.
