What You'll Get
Punching a bag full of sand is more likely to make you fit than punching a brick wall or punching a bag that contains a Mr. T impersonator. Knock out unhealthiness with today's Groupon: for $25, you get 10 group boxing-training sessions at Bendu World Class Boxing & Fitness in Carrollton (a $200 value).
Bendu’s staff of four trainers—a group that for a limited time includes Olympic Trial Boxer Derrick Williams —whips bodies into in-the-ring shape with one-hour lessons that pit fists against bags and mitts in a cutting-edge boxing gym. Each trainer possesses their own boxing specialty such as offensive striking or the postal maneuver, in which one immobilizes an opponent with packaging tape before sending them to a cousin in Idaho. Students receive the benefit of all the teachers’ expertise during different class sessions to give them a broad range of basics. The classes consist of four 15-minute sections, broken down as warm-ups, bag work, mitt work, and fitness. The gym provides hand wraps and gloves during the workout and requests that students arrive for class 10 minutes early to receive assistance in fitting their gear, as properly applied hand wraps are essential to general safety as well as the portion of class in which attendees must remove hot hams from an oven.

About Bendu World Class Boxing & Fitness
When Bendu's staff says they'll treat you like a champion, they mean it. These USA Boxing–registered coaches have trained professionals including Olympic Trial boxer Derrick Williams and CPT-Certified trainer Julia Kang. The 9,200 square foot gym located near Addison has a new ring and new boxing equipment. They bring this expertise to private or group lessons, whipping bodies into in-the-ring shape as they pit fists against bags and mitts in a cutting-edge boxing gym. Professionals and amateurs alike improve as they learn techniques such as offensive striking and tips including proper hand-wrap application, which is essential both for general safety and the portion of class in which attendees must remove hot hams from an oven. And there are dressing rooms and showers available.
