Ranked #8 by Golf Week among Illinois's public courses, the award-winning golf course at Bowes Creek Country Club incorporates many of the area's natural features, from rippling farmland and scenic bluff slopes to Bowes Creek itself. The 18-hole layout stretches to 6,900 yards from the tips, but players of all skill levels can join in thanks to five sets of tees at each hole, which effectively shrink the course without it ever getting rolled up and tossed into a dryer. Away from the links, an elevated, 30-station driving range with target greens allows golfers to practice right onsite. Although the club prides itself on its members, it's also pretty welcoming; visitors can gain full use of the facility with single-day memberships that essentially displace outdated green fees.
