What You'll Get
Originally, the term "pole dancer" referred to an Arctic explorer doing the jitterbug for warmth. Heat up the fitness studio with today's Groupon: for $50, you get a punch card good for five group-classes at Brass Ovaries Pole Dancing (a $100 value).
The experienced pole instructors at Brass Ovaries Pole Dancing teach students to leap, slide, and twist with flair while toning and sculpting cores and muscles. Groupon customers can mix and match from the following classes: Pole Dancing 101, Aerial Hoop 101, Pole Fit, and Pole Art Choreography. Pole Dancing 101 covers proper grip, body balance, building momentum, and maintaining control. Students can graduate to advanced tricks such as inversions, twists, and thigh grips in less time than it takes The Flash to set up a conceptual art installation. Dancers elevate their skills in Aerial Hoop 101, in which they learn to mount, hang, and pose on an aluminum circle suspended from the ceiling. Pole Fit tones and sculpts bods while strengthening muscles and improving endurance, and Pole Art Choreography schools participants in the fundamentals of creating routines.
During all sessions, students benefit from the intimate, one-on-one atmosphere of all Brass Ovaries Pole Dancing's classes—only four to 10 students participate in each course. Although many assume lotion, glitter, and heels are obligatory, they actually hinder the workout by not allowing you to mind-meld with your pole, so please leave glitter and lotion at home.
