Run for your life and others' with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get one registration for the DC Running Club’s Cancer Cure 8K Fundraiser race (a $30 value) at the Capital Crescent Trail on Saturday April 30, at 7:30 a.m.
Part of The V Foundation and ESPN's Don’t Ever Give Up Run Series, the Cancer Cure 8K Fundraiser provides a fun forum for runners to showcase their skills and gather monetarily magical resources for cancer research. The 8-kilometer trot transports runners and their slightly slower shadows up the Capital Crescent Trail along the banks of the Potomac River. Participants will run, skip, or cartwheel their way to the finish line, where the first male and female finishers and top fundraisers will receive a variety of prizes, including humility.
This year, the Cancer Cure’s goal is to raise $15,000 for the V Foundation Cancer Research fund. Participants can raise money by asking charitable neighbors and ATMs for contributions or by consulting the online fund manager, which enables philanthropic civilians to make donations directly to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
The DC Running Club recommends that race participants email info@dcrunningclub.com to pick up their race packet prior to race day.
