Shaped like 18 distinct clearings in Ouachita National Forest, the holes of Cedar Creek Golf Course reside at the western extremity of the sprawling Broken Bow Lake. Keeping a golf ball from sneaking off into the pine trees that line the fairways of each hole is a good start for any golfer, but the dense forestry isn't the only hazard looming over the layout. Significant elevation swings—the course runs among the foothills of the Kiamichi Mountains—and the course's namesake creek can wear equally on any golfer's psyche.
