Indoor Rock Climbing FAQs
- What should I Wear? Comfortable, athletic clothing that you can easily move around in. If you wear shorts, we recommend longer shorts as a harness can cause them to ride up. You'll be able to grab climbing shoes, harness, and other necessary gear onsite.
- Do I have to be in good shape? Not really! Climbing gyms have routes that cater to a wide range of fitness levels. Generally speaking, if you can climb a ladder you can indoor rock climb.
- What if I'm afraid of heights? Try bouldering, which takes place on shorter walls and doesn't require harnesses or other top-rope gear. Bouldering focuses more on moving sideways than vertically, so climbers rarely get more than 10 - 12 feet off the ground.

About Central Rock Rochester
Central Rock Gym exists to provide everyone with a world class indoor climbing, fitness, and community experience through our state of the art facilities, expansive climbing walls, cutting edge fitness equipment, professional yoga classes, and various youth programs and summer camps. It is through these many offerings that our CRG staff and members come together to build a community of climbers and friends. Central Rock Gym embraces its role as an integral part of the social fabric of all of our host cities and communities. As with any business, Central Rock Gym started from humble beginnings. Brothers Joe and Ed Hardy had an immense passion for climbing and wanted to bring the sport to their hometown of Worcester, MA. In 2007 they began laying the groundwork for creating a business that could serve their community in a profoundly meaningful way and in 2009 Central Rock Gym Worcester was born. Since then, the brothers have continued to identify communities that could benefit from the social and physical aspects of climbing.
