I had an awesome time at the Chicago Chocolate Tour yesterday! Our tour guide Brianne was awesome! She was very informative and super charismatic and friendly! She knew so much information and facts about Chicago and made the experience that much better! I definitely want to try the Tuesday tour as well and hopefully have her again as a guide! Thanks again for an awesome time! Oh, the chocolates and cupcakes were great too ;)

Kerrie the tour guide was great and the locations on the tour were perfect. It was nice to have a variety of quality stops. Argo Tea for a beverage stop instead of the usual coffee, was excellent.

What You'll Get

A fine chocolate is like a fine wine: full-flavored, delicately structured, and inadvisable to consume while operating a Segway. Today’s Groupon gives you the keys to the chocolate kingdom: $22 for a chocolate walking tour with Chicago Chocolate Tours (a $40 value).

A Chicago Chocolate Tour explores the essential qualities of fine chocolates, chocolate's role in world history, and Chicago’s famous chocolate architecture, led by a tour guide made of chocolate. Spend around two-and-a-half hours exploring the rich, chocolaty centers of a neighborhood of your choice, including the Loop, Downtown Loop, South Loop, Lakeview, the French Market, and the Magnificent Mile and Gold Coast. Delve into back-stair chocolate bunkers such as Canady Le Chocolatier and Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland. You'll be fed copious amounts of rare and exquisite chocolaty treats (such as bacon chocolate), which will melt into ambrosial nectars in your mouth and then re-form back into cacao beans in your small intestine, thereby completing the beautiful circle of chocolate. People are fawning over Chicago Chocolate Tours. Centerstage Chicago and CNN ate it up:

  • The Chicago Chocolate Tour is a chocoholic's dream come true, but it's more than just a sampling of mouth-watering chocolate treats—although there's plenty of that. The tour also dishes interesting tidbits about the history of chocolate and its production, as well as info about the companies that sell it, all wrapped up in one tasty package. – Albrey Nuss, Centerstage Chicago
  • Romances come and go, but many a gourmand is in it for life with that addictive cocoa concoction, chocolate...the tours will provide guests with nuggets about the history and health benefits of chocolate, as well as more treats than most people can finish. – Marnie Hunter, CNN

About Chicago Chocolate Tours

Owner Valerie Beck and her team of chocophile tour guides lead guests on walking tours of Chicago’s historical bakeries and chocolatiers, narrating the history of beloved sweets while walking an easy route through vistas of Chicago’s stunning architectural heritage. While snacking on samples of sweets, guests learn about chocolate’s storied history, the cupcake’s rise to prominence, and how to guess the flavor of filling inside Oompa Loompas by sight. Tours convene throughout Chicago’s many neighborhoods, giving guests a sneak peek into Chicago's signature confections, boutique shops, and mobile sweet-vending trucks. The chocolate or cupcake jaunts provide the perfect setting for a girls’ day out or bachelorette party, showing tour-goers the sweeter side of the city without getting caught in construction sites of shoddily built gingerbread houses.
