Indoor Climbing FAQs
- Is it safe? Yes! Everyone receives instruction on clipping in and out, as well as safety training. Unlike traditional rock climbing gyms, the auto-belay system removes the need for special knot-tying skills or a human belayer. Instructors are stationed throughout the facility to make certain everyone is using their equipment correctly and to lend a helping hand should one be needed.
- What should I wear? Comfortable fitting clothing and sneakers. Climbing shoes are not allowed.
- Do I have to be in good shape? Not really—climbing gyms have courses that cater to a wide range of fitness levels. Generally speaking, if you can climb a ladder you can indoor rock climb.
- What if I’m afraid of heights? The instructors are willing and able to help guide you. Since you climb at your own pace, you never have to go higher than where you are comfortable.

About ClimbZone White Marsh
Guests best a 28’ tall knight in shining armor, race an instructor on the speed wall, or scale the face of Mt. Rushmore—and then let gravity gently lower them to the ground. ClimbZone White Marsh's more than 75 whimsical indoor climbs capture the imagination before the ascent even begins, but the big attraction isn't the colorful trees, blocks, and stone-faced presidents. An auto-belay system puts even the youngest climbers in charge of their own journeys upward, carefully lowering them back to earth when they've reached their level. Spirits climb nearly as high as the guests themselves, thanks to the birthday parties, snacks on hand, and endorphins generated from the healthy workout a climb provides.
