Before he discovered that audiences enjoyed breathtaking fencing duels, Shakespeare ended his plays by revealing that the villain was actually Mr. Wickles, the jilted horseminder. Add action to the scenes of your life with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get one round of 50 sporting clays (a $24 value), a golf cart rental (a $6 value), and a gun rental (a $20 value) at Drake Landing in Harnett County, south of Fuquay-Varina.

On a fifth-generation working farm, Drake Landing boasts fully equipped facilities for an array of outdoor shooting activities. Guests can join friends or family to set sights on sporting clays along an expansive course. Designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, or other fowl, clay targets in a variety of sizes come flying out from all angles and distances, giving shooters the experience of actual hunting conditions. Whether a seasoned hunter or a novice gunslinger, the course tests and improves wing-sniping skills while inspiring recycling ideas for broken teacups. Guests may purchase shells at Drake's clubhouse before hitting the course.

Accredited by the National Sporting Clays Association, Drake Landing upholds the mission to foster a safe environment that promotes gun-safety skills. Because clay-pigeon season lasts all year, patrons can nab earthenware trophies to match their mantle trimmings appropriate for any holiday.

About Drake Landing

After a day plowing the fields, the young Dan Andrews would jump from the tractor, feel his boots sink into the freshly turned earth, and then grab his rifle for an evening of hunting on his family's farm. Once he graduated college, Andrews found himself wanting to share his passion for the outdoors, forged by experiences such as hunting trophy buck and stalking duck along the farmland's creek beds. He returned to the land that had sustained his family for five generations and founded Drake Landing.
