Earth, an alluring enigma, is balanced in the void of space upon two poles over which it sensuously spins and ineffably shimmies. Harness the power of your polarity with today's Groupon: for $29, you get a 10-class pass to French Kiss Fitness (a $149 value), valid at the Ogden and Clearfield locations. The Clearfield location opens January 1, 2012. This Groupon can be used for any combination of French Kiss's classes.

The veteran instructors at French Kiss Fitness foster a positive studio setting that welcomes women of all backgrounds to increase their confidence and drop pounds. Students interested in pole workouts can attend introductory sessions that impart fundamental techniques after pairing attendees with one of the studio's 14 poles, each flying a different international flag. The exhilarating spins, holds, and kicks of pole fitness classes help tighten limbs and trim torsos, and aerial silk and trapeze classes employ suspended fabric to strengthen and decorate cores. Students remain on solid ground during dance classes that burn calories through high-energy Zumba, hip-hop, kickboxing, and belly-dance routines. New students may drop in for their first class after consulting French Kiss's online schedule.

French Kiss Fitness

The instructors of French Kiss Fitness model their group classes after the acts of performers such as Pink, the pop star who thrilled audiences at the 2010 Grammys with a dance routine derived from circus acrobatics. Like a dark room plastered with Lou Ferrigno posters, the studio's workout style both develops and shows off muscle. Fourteen poles support physiques as they execute moves that build core strength; off the pole, students learn floor- or chair-based routines to replicate at home. Aerial classes build center strength with the help of silk ropes, dangling hoops, and a trapeze. For more traditional workouts, students can attend core-strengthening Pilates classes or yoga classes to relax the mind and body.

I'm new to the area and am pleased to find a dance/fitness studio that offers such a variety of styles. I've tried Hot Hula and Intro to Pole and found them both physically and technically challenging. Tonight I'm trying a totally different class. I love it!!
