The internationally trained coaches at Gold Blade Fencing Center draw upon years of professional experience to teach students of all skill levels the finer points of successful swordplay. During one-hour beginner classes, pupils practice fencing footwork while covering the basics of primary defensive and offensive techniques, such as lunging or escaping combat via chandelier. Pupils practice with provided equipment—a choice of épée or foil—and can further their training by applying for club membership after the first class. To keep matches fair, the 3,000-square-foot arena fosters impartial sword-sashaying with 12 electric scoring strips installed in the hardwood floor.
