Some people are born to run; some are born to scramble up and down walls and ceilings like a Tokay gecko. Unleash your inner lizard with today's Groupon to climbers' paradise Hangar 18. Choose one of the following vertically oriented climbing packages:
For $30, you get two indoor rock-climbing packages, each of which includes a 60-minute rock-climbing lesson, full access to all-day climbing the same days as the lesson, and all the necessary equipment (a $60 total value). You can use both these packages yourself or split them with a friend. During the 60-minute lesson, rock-groping newbies get schooled on every aspect of the climbing craft, from basic voice communications to essential safety precautions, before taking newly acquired skills cliffside.
For $299, you get a one-year membership to the rocktemple, a $600 value. The membership entitles you to unlimited climbing, all rental gear, and access to members-only technical clinics, as well as yoga and lead climbing classes, belaying lessons, and one guest pass per calendar month. It will also give you a reason to finally resurrect the constant wearing of your Members Only jacket.
For $55, you get two one-month trial memberships, up to a $120 value. This membership option includes all the benefits of the yearlong membership but only lasts as long as a mayfly in a time vortex. This package can also be split between two people, giving each person one month. It is an excellent pick for two buddies looking to reach new heights or the cute couple who prefer date nights filled with sweat, altitude, and the occasional mountain goat encounter.
Each option is good to redeem at any of three Hangar 18 locations in Upland, Riverside, or Hawthorne (memberships entitle you to access to all three, any time you like). With more than 35,000 total square feet of textured climbing terrain, world-class bouldering, and massive caves featuring routes up to 70 feet long, Hangar 18's fake rocks are fit for kings who rule the wall with an iron fist made out of gold.
Climbers must be 11 or older. All memberships and day passes by a minor will require a parent or legal guardian to fill out a liability waiver.
