What You'll Get
Sailing on international waters allows sailors liberties that can't be taken on land, such as marrying a video game, naming a dog a swearword, or rebroadcasting NFL games without the written consent of the league. Go above the law with today's Groupon to Happy Winds Kiteboarding Academy in Virginia Beach. Choose between the following options:
- For $30, you get a one-hour group sailing lesson (a $60 value).
- For $40, you get a one-hour group introductory kiteboarding lesson (an $80 value).
The certified instructors at Happy Winds teach sailing savvy and aerial kite-maneuvering skills. Happy Winds’ water-sports professors teach basic sailing courses, which hold a maximum of four participants per instructor. Sail-setters learn basics such as boat parts, boat types, and how to fold the sail into an origami goose. Wind-harnessing deck hands edify student sailors on determining wind direction and turning the boat, and all participants get a chance to sail the vessel. The Kite Pilot lesson lets a maximum of 10 people safely develop solid kite skills. Novice kiteboarders learn about rigging and line management, launching and landing techniques, and basic kiteboarding etiquette, such as the raised pinky harness grip. All gear is provided for both courses.
