Horseback riding replaced horsefront riding during the War of 1812, when American soldiers realized they couldn’t be taken seriously while carried in adult-size baby slings. Giddy-up like a grownup with today’s Groupon to Horse Rides of Pensacola. Up to three Groupons can be scheduled together for each riding session. Choose between the following options:
- For $24, you get a one-hour horseback trail ride or 30-minute riding lesson and 30-minute trail ride (an up to $50 value).
- For $70, you get three one-hour horseback-riding lessons (a $150 value).
Helmed by experienced trainer and instructor Cheryl Glass, Horse Rides of Pensacola teaches aspiring equestrians the ins and outs of horsemanship while they socialize with friends and revel in the great outdoors. An equine ambassador guides each timberland jaunt, navigating groups along one-hour, fresh-air-fueled journeys. Those without experience can opt for a combination 30-minute lesson and 30-minute ride, allowing rookie riders learn basic skills, such as how to properly mount the horse, how to ask it for the day’s stock prices, and how to get it to gently gallop.
The one-hour Introduction to Horses delves deeper into the techniques of equestrian expertise, grooming riders with the fundamentals of equine safety, anatomy, and proper form. Once mastered, the techniques from the class provide a solid foundation for Horse Rides of Pensacola’s more intense Equine 101, Advanced Equine 101, and Horses Throughout the Ages: The Rise and Fall of Mr. Ed.
