On 6,900 square feet of climbable walls, beginners and experts alike test scaling skills with the help of an experienced cadre of instructors. Newcomers cut their teeth in a belay class, which instructs students on putting on a harness, tying a figure-eight-retrace knot, and how to tell if a natural mountain is safe to eat. Once sufficiently trained, patrons may gear up and scale walls of varying difficulty. Colorful handholds freckle scrambling surfaces that range in shape from simple, vertical climbs to complex scaling behemoths with overhanging sections.
Adept climbers or humanoid mountain goats can skip instruction in favor of immediate gratification with a 5- or 10-visit punch card, which includes harness and shoe rental. Guests can also scale the bouldering wall, which foregoes ropes in favor of an injury-preventing crash pad in the newly renovated facility.

About Ibex Climbing Gym
Ibex Climbing Gym's 8,000-square-foot indoor facility is home to dozens of routes for all climbing skill levels. From clinging to overhangs or slowly trudging up slabs, climbers can hone their gripping skills with lead or top-rope climbing sessions. On a second-floor loft, bouldering challenges await rope-free climbers, with crash pads on the ground to soften falls and hundreds of multicolored holds offering varying routes. Ibex team members lead classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, and also offer youth summer camps and recreational and competitive climbing teams. A wide variety of gear is available to equip students for climbing inside or outside of the gym. Prior to any rope climbing in the gym, beginners must undergo a belay class that teaches the fundamentals of belay safety, proper terminology, and the preclimb lasso dancing required for good luck.
