The Little Gym of Asheville promotes healthy growth in pintsize exercisers through age-specific programs designed to engage children’s imaginations, foster physical activity, and build self-confidence. During weekly classes, wee ones anywhere from 4 months to 12 years old exercise brains, bodies, and budding appreciation for leg warmers in a noncompetitive nurturing environment. Parent-child sessions help infants and toddlers learn critical skills through a three-dimensional learning process geared toward increasing physical strength, boosting language development, and teaching early social skills.
Older moppets can channel energies into learning organized exercise and the nuances of victory dances during The Little Gym’s gymnastics, dance, karate, and sports-skills sessions. With a maximum class size of 18 kids, The Little Gym’s trained instructors can provide personalized attention as each child dances, flips, and karate chops to the beat of The Little Gym’s foot-tapping tunes.

About The Little Gym
In 1976, educator, musician, and kinesiologist Robin Wes longed for a children's gym that valued personal growth over competition. Robin's program is now used in more than 300 Little Gyms worldwide, but he still pens original music to accompany lessons, which engage whippersnappers aged 4 months to 12 years with gymnastics, dance, karate, and parent and child activities.
Each of The Little Gym's classes introduces simple movements that sharpen motor skills and set brains whirring, teaching kids to progress the skills they need to build a computer out of macaroni and glitter. Staff members strive to build social skills and self-assurance with each exercise, including activities rooted purely in fun, such as summer classes or birthday parties, which helped The Little Gym to earn title of #1 Birthday Chain in Parents Magazine.
