About Maestro Music
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
The best words come from my students: "Bonnie is a superb piano teacher. She has an amazing amount of patience, humor, and phenomenal skill! She can draw my daughter’s little wandering mind back to the subject easily and makes learning the piano fun and interesting." Thea, mother of piano student
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Music book requirements will be discussed at the first lesson. Voice students are expected to rehearse two to three pieces of music in a minimum of two languages (English and one additional) while piano and flute students will work through method books and then branch out into their own repertoire.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I have always been a teacher at heart, looking at a problem to determine how best to attack it or describe it in new ways to a friend. After college graduation, I decided to focus full time on teaching in the greater Portland area. Now that I teach online, my students are from around the US!
What do you love most about your job?
I love reaching the "ah-hah" moment with students. It is the moment when all the background theory they've learned combines with the hard work and strong intentions to produce a great sound.
