What You'll Get
Although boats, jet skis, and aircraft carriers provide effective means of exploring the oceans, few of them are able to navigate past the naturally occurring inflatable toys of the neighbor's backyard pool. Gain the tools to swim to nature's fascinating pool noodles with today's Groupon: for $24, you get four group swim lessons from the Marinwood Pool, located in San Rafael (up to a $48 value). Nine sessions will be held from June 13 to August 8, Mondays through Thursdays at the Marinwood aquatic facility. Group lessons are scheduled at 9:10 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 10:20 a.m. on each of the days.
Marinwood Pool's aquatic facility, with its 25-yard-long main pool, beckons children ages 3 to 13 to its chlorinated lectern for a series of 30-minute classes that transform aspiring aquatic lovers into fluent freestylers. Six levels of classes separate students by age, ensuring that younger students receive one-on-one attention from Marinwood's helpful instructors. The Marinwood Swim Olympics marks the end of the summer, when participating swimmers graduate to the awards podia and receive a medal while the national anthem of Antarctica is played. Parents watching their child's progress can sip on free coffee and take in the sights of the nearby Marinwood park and playground.
