About New York Black Belt Center
Master Joseph Lupo Jr., a fifth-degree black belt, has been practicing taekwondo ever since he was a very small child. He learned from his father, Grandmaster Joseph Lupo Sr., who began practicing in the early 1970s shortly after arriving in America from Italy. Lupo Jr. has dedicated 30 years of his life to the martial art his father loved so much, and in 2010, he founded New York Black Belt Center in order to share his wisdom with students.
What began as a 1,500-square-foot facility is now a 4,000-square-foot training center complete with full changing rooms for men and women and a weight room. Here, Lupo Jr. and his fellow instructors lead taekwondo classes for adults, teens, and kids, plus judo and cardio kickboxing.
