What You'll Get
Like a good horror movie, a good exercise regimen shocks the body out of its lethargy, which is why so many personal trainers chase their clients on treadmills while brandishing anacondas. Get in less terrified shape with today’s Groupon: for $26, you get five women’s boot-camp sessions at Oxford Adventure Boot Camp at Oxford Elementary School and Oxford Middle School in Oxford (an $82.92 value). Boot camps run in four-week sessions; participants are encouraged to use all five sessions in the same month.
Led by Kendall Gregory, a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Oxford Adventure Boot Camp helps ladies of all ages and sizes shed pounds, gain confidence, and strengthen sinews through encouraging indoor and outdoor workouts. One-hour sessions present constant and varied challenges for muscles, keeping them from falling into boring routines and bottomless pits. Cardio exercises boost heart rates and metabolisms, sport yoga fosters bendy limbs, and core training improves posture and increases stability. Short-distance running mingles with weight training and obstacle courses, and kickboxing trains women to box up packages using only their feet. Sessions gradually increase in intensity, and nutritional tips along the way guide participants to healthier lifestyles.
Boot-camp participants will feel challenged in a safe and healthy manner, as Gregory modifies routines for each woman's ability level, taking into account any injuries and health conditions. Muscles can spring into slinky-emulating action in a variety of class times Monday–Friday. Participants should bring an exercise mat and small hand weights to class, as well as a water bottle, running shoes, and jetpack. Upgrades are available for double-X chromosome holders who want to commit to the full four-week program.
