What You'll Get
If foam noodles can be found floating on the surface of almost every pool, think how many perfectly salted meatballs must be at the bottom of the ocean. Today's side deal gets you a Discover Scuba lesson at Seascapes USA in Syosset for $30 (a $60 value).
As a PADI five-star certified diving center, Seascapes enlists only the most underseaworthy of wet-suited instructors to acclimate oxygen enthusiasts to the art of breathing underwater. Submerged in a warm, indoor pool alongside your expert guide, you'll learn to maintain balance while understanding air pressure, the physics of diving, and how to coexist with cuttlefish, anemones, and sea buttons.
A Discover lesson gives divers the chance to explore the underwater world without any extended commitment; you won't be certified to dive after just from one lesson, though you will be certified to wear scuba gear while sitting in puddles. But if you've heard the realms of the deep calling your name ever since you drank a vial of raindrops, you may use the $60 value of this Groupon toward Seascapes' certification courses. There are no set lesson times, and two to six people dive per lesson, so get together a group of landlubbers and call ahead to schedule a slot.
