A Chat with Spark Movement Fitness & Speed
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are not a boot camp that throws inexperienced people into intense and potentially dangerous exercises. I take pride in teaching you proper form to get the most out of each workout. Kettlebells, battle ropes, sleds, barbells, and more will be taught and used to burn calories and build muscle.
Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
It’s easy to motivate clients when they feel like they are going to constantly learn new exercises and get stronger. Motivation is tough when you go into a workout expecting to hurt and run yourself into the ground. My philosophy is that intensity is great…in moderation.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I love being in a profession where you need to be constantly learning. The fitness industry is evolving, and if your coach isn’t always learning, they will be falling behind.
What do you love most about your job?
Getting people stronger, especially women. I love to shift the emphasis from aesthetics to performance. Getting someone to do their first pull up ever or improving their 5k personal best is so satisfying. For long-term success, shift from how you look to how you perform, and you will achieve both.
