American bears are settling into hibernation in colder climates, so there's no better time for humans to gain physical superiority. Today’s Groupon gives you 14 day passes to your local Spectrum Athletic Club for $39 (normally $25 each)—that's less than $3 per day. You can come and go as you please each day you use a pass, so stop in for a morning workout and come back after work for an evening class.

Spectrum Athletic Club's 12 facilities provide avenues of exploration for you and your fitness needs with no risk of scurvy (you can go to multiple locations with your Groupon). Find your niche among the Pilates studios, basketball and volleyball courts, indoor cycling studios, cardio equipment with individual flat-screens, and heated swimming pools. There's even a women-only workout area that's completely free of the distracting sounds of men crying.

Certified personal trainers are around to guide you through any of the more than 1,500 group classes offered weekly. Classes extend to kickboxing, yoga, racquetball, and more, and there are even interactive kids clubs available for when you’re fiendin' for a good kick-box and can’t find a sitter. After your sweat, reward yourself with a healthy bite at the in-house café (club features vary by location) or a towel from the unlimited towel service.

The toughest part about working out is maintaining motivation. However, the promise of 14 individual visits that can be split up between any of Spectrum’s LA-area locations makes exercise a no-brainer. With six weeks to use your visits, you can guiltlessly embrace this festive season and fight off holiday insulation.

The Invisible Spectrum

The visible spectrum refers to the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be seen by the human eye. There are, of course, millions of wavelengths that exist that humans cannot see. Here’s what lies inside these invisible wavelengths:

800 nanometers: Looks sort of like red, but if you stare at it for more than a few seconds, you throw up corn even if you’ve never eaten corn.
900 nm: Ghosts become visible, but only ghosts of boring people.
1000 nm: Bees can see this wavelength, which allows them to detect and sting only people who are allergic to bee stings.
2000 nm: You’d see a childhood version of yourself who frequently chastises you for weaknesses.
3000 nm: You can see those who society has made invisible, like drifters and public criers.
