About Summit Everett

A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, Daniel Coltrane fell in love with climbing in 2003 while attending Western Washington University. Though he's been scaling walls ever since, Daniel did come down long enough to establish Summit Everett. There, he heads a staff of climbing experts, who teach their craft to others during a variety of different classes. Here are a few of Summit Everett's offerings:

  • Intro to climbing: This class equips students with the necessary skills to top-rope belay in a climbing gym, teaching them how to properly fit a harness, tie in as a climber, and more.

  • Lead climbing: This two-day course turns regular climbers into leaders by focusing on how to feed rope properly, reading routes, and other crucial lead-climbing techniques.

  • Technique seminar: Every Wednesday night, Summit Everett's weekly seminar teaches students new skills—or helps them perfect ones they already know—with beginner- to expert-level curriculum.
