No one is safe at San Francisco's Haunted House of Horrors. For six days leading up to Halloween, 25 Chambers of the Old Mint fill with horrors diverse and foul. Arachnophobes quake in the Spider's Prey room, the credulous fall prey to undead charm beside Dracula's Coffin, and cinephiles carry the terrible knowledge of their imminent fate as they explore the Slasher Movie Classics chamber. Other rooms contain killer clowns, shambling zombies, and mad scientists in search of unholy knowledge. Even if a guest fears nothing but elaborate dance numbers, they'll tremble at the Thriller sequence that's set to one of the 1980s' most terrifying bass lines. Other features of this limited time event include two winding horror mazes, a Blood Bar for adults to sip on ... wine, and classic horror-movie screenings with some new scares mixed in. A city as old as San Francisco has plenty of time to attract a few ghostly residents—at this haunted house, guests just might meet them.
