Private kids rock-climbing parties include a short intro with warm-up games, climbing shoe rentals, a lesson in climbing and falling safely, and climbing time. Festivities can be scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 9:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m., and feature two hours of games and climbing, and 30-minutes of party-room use.
As rock-climber, Andrew Coffey saw a growing interest in bouldering among his fellow climbers and he also noticed a lack of dedicated bouldering gyms in the city— so he decided to build one himself. He created The Hive, a 10,000-square-foot space full of custom-designed rock that can be climbed without ropes. He later added on Hive Yoga, which caters to athletes trying to enhance their performance, as well as those just looking to improve their overall well-being and relax.
The welcoming, nonjudgmental yoga classes take place in a climate-controlled room that's fully soundproof, thus blocking out the sound of the avalanches falling from the nearby boulders. While natural light pours in from the windows, students flow through yoga poses and learn about balance, health, nutrition, and relaxation.
After class, students can relax with a cup of tea at the Arc’teryx Beta Lounge and observation deck. They can speak with their instructor here, too, and get to know their classmates better.
