  • For $30, you get two rounds of 18-hole golf, including golf cart rental (up to a $60 value). Tee off anytime on weekdays or after 1 p.m. on weekends or holidays.

The Links at Whitmore Lake challenges seasoned swingers and golf greenhorns alike with 18 diverse holes spanning meticulously manicured fairways. The picturesque course, designed by William Newcomb, boasts arbor-lined greens, five boardwalks, and scenic water hazards along 254 acres, nearly one-half of which is protected wetlands. Golfers can hone their skills while chipping out of pesky sand traps and tremor holes, and masterfully avoid stepping on cracks that break mothers' backs by rolling over them in the included golf cart.

Golfers with an insatiable need for multiple golf outings can lessen their score and fees with a 2011 players pass. Swing the greens of Whitmore Lake for an entire season with locked-in rates and included cart rental, such as a weekday round of nine for $10 (up to a $20 value), or go a full round of 18 for $15 (up to a $30 value). You'll also get a $5 discount for your guests' green fees and 10% off golf-shop merchandise (excluding sale items). The pass also includes one hour of early access to Whitmore Lake's twilight-hour rates for you and your guests. If you head to the range, you'll get a small basket of range balls for $3, as well as weekend and holiday morning rounds for $25 (up to a $39 value for 18 holes). While this deal only allows you to purchase one Players Pass for yourself, you may purchase an additional pass and gift it to the golf fanatic in your home or treehouse.

The Links at Whitmore Lake's rates fluctuate throughout the season and at different times during the day; plan ahead to ensure you're redeeming your Groupon at the most opportune time.

About Whitmore Lake Golf Links

Whitmore Lake Golf Links is like two courses in one. On the front nine, golfers meander across scenic uplands, tackling hills and large, flat greens. In the second half, however, the landscape shifts to mostly wetlands, setting the back nine among boardwalks and teeing decks in the middle of the marsh. All told, wetlands cover much of the facility's 254 acres of property, where wildlife abounds as players conquer the par 71 course's wild challenges.

To prepare for the idyllic gauntlet, visitors can make a day of it at the onsite restaurant or the club's practice facilities. At both the driving range and a short-game area, golfers can perfect every aspect of their game, from their swing mechanics to the flute melodies they use to coax timid clubs from the bag.
