For $48, today's deal lets you participate in a six-week Saturday Whatchamacallit boot camp class (a $120 value) at The Studio Martial Arts & Fitness in Granite Bay. Classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekly.
A favorite of Sacramento CityVoters, The Studio fosters fitness and makes martial arts masters out of fledgling fighters. Instructors Jack Corrie (seventh degree senior master) and Amitis Pourarian (sixth degree master and former U.S. team member) coordinate and co-operate the body-fortifying center, contributing a combined 50 years of martial arts experience. During 90-minute boot camp classes, students learn to maneuver their metatarsals and middle ears in a menagerie of different workout methods designed to pump hearts and arms. TRX suspension and cardio kickboxing kick off sessions, combusting calories and galvanizing muscle-guns before strength-training exercises get to work defining muscular fibers. The course concludes with yoga, stretching, and sun saluting, designed to cool down broiling calorie-burners.
