The aquatic exploits, which is ideal for beginners of all ages and those who enjoy the outdoors, begins with an introduction to kayaking or canoeing lesson, during which experienced professors of the paddle will review the basics of the vessel and how to navigate it around menacing goslings. From there, clients will take to their watercraft for a tranquil two-hour trek down the Humber River, one of Toronto’s major waterways, or the Rouge River in Toronto’s East End. As guests glide across the waters, they can absorb the sights and sounds of a natural world not seen in big-city life—the sweet coo of the muskrat, the massive wingspan of the carp, or the gambling addiction of the blue heron. Each tour is led by an experienced guide, ensuring maximum safety and scenery-seeing for each kayaker.
With the corporate team building and private groups package, additional staff can pay $29.95 per person at the event. The event includes instruction for kayaking or canoeing and the group has a choice of one-person kayaks, two-person kayaks, two-person canoes, or three-person canoes. After instruction and kayak or canoe selection, a two-hour guided adventure on the Humber River begins for paddlers. For groups that do not wish to participate in paddling, hiking is also available.
Tours may be booked beginning March 31 for runs Wednesday–Sunday, with a $5 additional fee for Saturdays and Sundays.<p>
