For 50 years, Touisset Country Club has tested golfers’ mettle with nine holes of strategically designed course play along 3,029 yards of natural and manmade obstacles. The course, which family patriarch Raymond Brigham constructed by hand and mind control, contains naturally occurring hazards, such as large boulders and clusters of trees. The greens' penncross bentgrass and tricky reads test putters while idly performing photosynthesis. The greens are large, and many elevate onto ledges to create an additional challenge to the golfer. Woods on both sides often protect tight fairways, and water hazards wait patiently to gulp down any errant shots in hope of adding them to their mucky collage of googly-eyed golf balls.

About Touisset Country Club
The course at Touisset Country Club covers a verdant patch of repurposed farmland that still bears many of its original, naturally occurring hazards. In 1959, the then-amateur designers, Raymond Brigham and Richard Weller, built the course by hand. In doing so, they chose to leave the existing boulders in place rather than using them as paperweights for to-scale U.S. maps. And today, more than half a century later, the course balances such rugged features with well-maintained, penncross grass greens.
