Be ready for the upsell. But looks like the facilities are in better condition than they had been the last time I was a member.

Great place for a workout. Clean and good equipment. It's nice that they supply towels, hairdryers, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. No funky smells, well air conditioned. They also have water filters so bring your own bottles.

About This Deal

Early fitness buffs were known to work out by angering Greek gods in hopes that they would be punished and forced to push boulders up a hill for eternity. Get in shape at your convenience with today's Groupon: for $24, you get a 30-day Passport membership to New York Sports Clubs (a $49 value). Passport memberships can be redeemed at any New York Sports Club location.

Part of Towns Sports International's network of fitness loci, New York Sports Clubs welcome exercisers in a number of equipment-stocked facilities to help attain perspiration-soaked fitness goals at a convenient location. Strength-training gear such as circuit machines, free weights, and medicine balls filled with black holes mold muscles into chiseled depictions of physical might. Calories simmer and move to cooler climates after sessions on cardio machines ranging from treadmills and ellipticals to upright and recumbent stationary bicycles. Each club offers its own schedule of group classes that draw from more than 100 different fitness styles, including Pilates, yoga, and boxing, to keep members from jazzercising without a spotter. Each club location thanks exercisers for sweating in its vicinity with special features, such as baby-sitting, saunas, and steam rooms, but Passport memberships do not include pool access.
