What a fun day! We went out with Sam as our guide. Great paddle up the Wailua River and then a hike to the Uluwehi Falls. Sam is fantastic. You do need footwear with closed toes and secure heels that can get wet. We had to traverse across a river that was knee deep with a swift current, cross a few streams, and parts of the trail have muddy rocks. It was super fun. The paddle back was into head winds, but my husband and I had a blast. Highly recommend! Just wear good shoes and listen to your guide.

Discover the hidden beauty of Uluwehi Falls (Secret Falls), Kauai’s most sought-after waterfall destination. Skip the hassle of parking, equipment rentals, and crowded state park lots—simply arrive at our convenient riverside location and let the adventure begin. Guides handle all kayak setup and gear so you can focus on the journey. Paddle up Hawaii’s legendary Wailua River through lush rainforest scenery, then trek, splash, and explore your way to a spectacular 120-foot waterfall. Adventurers should be comfortable in the water and ready for a physically rewarding outing—expect a 4-mile roundtrip paddle and a moderate 2-mile hike with stream crossings and muddy, uneven trails. This is the easiest way to unleash your inner explorer and experience Kauai’s most iconic waterfall, with all logistics handled for you.

It was a great excursion. Our guide was personable and experienced. It was muddy (which is to be expected in Kauai) and some scrabbling over rocky areas was required. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience.

We had the BEST time, a family of 4 with a 9 and 12 year old. We had to do some heavy paddling to make up for the kiddos but it was all worth it! Our guide was amazing, very aware of our safety and took good care of us throughout the tour. Highly recommend, unique experience for sure, be sure to wear good shoes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy!

This is a physical trip, but well worth it! You kayak for several miles & then hike for several more to get to the secret falls - which is beautiful! Our guide was Cayman & he was great! He was very knowledgeable and educational and lots of fun. I would highly recommend this trip. We are in our 70s and we’re a little slower than the younger kids, but we had no problem with the hike or the kayaking. It was a great time spent.
