Excellent experience in beautiful, serene mangrove canals with crystal clear water. Our guide, Joejoe was very knowledgeable and committed to teaching us about the fish, flora and crustaceans, even picking up a barracuda to show us its' teeth. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed the tour itself! Pretty easy paddling, great views of wildlife and fun navigating through the mangrove tunnels. On the way back though (this is too crazy/funny to make up), the tour guide, who was born and raised in the Keys, turned off the route because he wanted to show us his “neighborhood”. The kid was eccentric as it is, I’ll leave it at that. He started towing the bus and kayaks through a suburb area saying things like “and I lived in this house; it’s pretty nice it has a hot tub”, “my dad built this house over here” etc. just totally serious as if everyone wanted to know, which I thought was hilarious so I was rolling with it. Everyone ok the bus was trying not to burst out laughing at the poor kid. Then, he pulled up to his mom’s house and said “and this is where the water broke” (he was born in the Keys, remember) and invited us to come inside and see the INSIDE of the house. At that point unfortunately I had to burst his little bubble and say that as cool as it was seeing where his mother’s water broke the day of his birth, we were all ready to head back to the kayak shop.

Relaxing, safe and informative. Our guide, Beca, had good control of the group and as a marine biologist a deep understanding of the history and importance of the ecological system of the mangroves. We used tandem kayaks and it was better as one took take breaks and just be an outlook for wildlife. We did see mantees up close.

We got lucky both with a small group and an OUTSTANDING tour guide! Joe-Joe is a lifelong resident and was very knowledgeable about the area and even more personable! It was a little cool on the day we went which kept the wildlife viewing a little limited but still a great time!
