One of the best experiences we have had. Our guide Paul was so informative. We picked up on the snowshoeing really quick and was able to see and feed a lot of the chickadees. Totally recommend!

This is a MUST do if you are looking for a fun winter outdoor activity in the Mount Rose area! You take a very leisurely pace as you steadily climb above the tree line, with frequent stops to see the sights and learn about the local area from your guide, until you reach an overlook to see Lake Tahoe then turn back. Unfortunately, the day my mom and I went, it was overcast so we couldn’t see the lake; however, we got to feed a lot of Chickadees! And our guide, Paulie, was fantastic - he was very knowledgeable about the area and had a very relaxed demeanor which made the trip all the more fun. Overall, as a person who doesn’t frequently hike, I would say this is a moderate intensity activity - 100% worth any soreness! 10/10 would do again.

Paul was a great guide! He was very knowlegable about the terrain and the greater Tahoe area. He was communicative prior to our scheduled meet up because of potential bad weather and offered alternative hikes. Thankfully the morning of was bright bule skies and calm air, so we were able to stick with the original plan. We had a beautiful morning of snowshoeing. It was the perfect duration and elevation gain for people with no experience. The chickadees were so cute!

We went snowshoeing for the first time with four adults, five teens, and a dog, and had a wonderful time. Paul was a great guide and was super accommodating for our larger group. He shared cool facts about the forest and lake area and showed us less touristy areas. The hike itself was not too difficult especially as we were able to move at our own pace, and the view at the top of the ridge was definitely worth it.
