Thanks to modern technology, golf simulators are mirroring the real-life game of golf more and more accurately. At X Golf New England, each simulator is equipped with XPlate, a nifty feature that lets the floor of each simulator tilt up to 35 degrees so players are only hitting off a flat lie if that's where they happen to be on the course. And speaking of courses, players have dozens of world-famous destinations to choose from—including Pinehurst #2, St. Andrews, and Torrey Pines—and they all load up on the 17 feet wide simulator screen with the touch of a button.

Between each golf shot—teed up automatically by the helpful XBall system—players can head to the bar to grab beer and wine. The simulators also come in handy for the practical matters of lessons and club fitting, thanks to the elimination of environmental variables such as wind and heckling gophers.
