Today's Groupon gets you a rock-climbing lesson and a day of climbing practice at X-treme Rock Climbing. A lesson with one of X-treme's expert climbing instructors is the perfect chance to learn how to abseil and belay your way to bountiful rock-joy. In an hour-long group lesson, a friendly instructor will teach you and up to five others everything you need to know to safely climb (equipment rental is included). After your lesson is over, you get to roam the walls on your own for the rest of the day, so come early and stay late.
The gym has more than 14,000 square feet of climbing wall, with challenging top-rope, slab, and bouldering routes designed by USA Climbing–certified staff. X-treme’s routes are made of fake rocks fit for kings who rule the walls with iron fists made of gold. Climbing in a rock gym is nothing like grappling the plywood-and-plastic climbing walls at a company picnic; X-treme's walls are covered with state-of-the-art textured products that mimic the conditions of real rocks (indentions, protrusions, overhangs, underbites, and sharp angles included), so you can use your fresh skills on any rocks anywhere, instilling you with a confidence on par with earning a knowing wink from Bruce Lee circa 1970. Veteran climbers say rock climbing is sort of like training for and running a marathon, but you get the adrenaline rushes in shorter, more intensely concentrated spurts.

X-treme Rock Climbing offers a vertical maze of more than 14,000 square feet of climbing. USA Climbing–certified route setters mark basic paths for beginners, along with challenging roofs and overhangs for more experienced scalers. The routes change often, lending a layer of surprise to each return visit. Skilled instructors also teach students to master indoor and outdoor rock-climbing techniques, which they can use to blaze new paths at parks or reach top-shelf cereal boxes in grocery stores.
